There is a known bug in Moodle which prevents users who have Microsoft Office 2007 from opening PowerPoint files in Internet Explorer (unless they save the file first), so we recommend that you either download/save the file or use Firefox as your primary Moodle browser. Although the bug tracker states that this problem occurs in version 1.7.1 further testing indicates that it is present in both earlier (i.e. 1.6) and later (i.e. 1.8) versions of Moodle.
